Imagine a simple tool that can help usher more ease and joy into your life, that can swiftly help you release old energetic blocks and emotional patterns … that literally works as a tool to help you shift consciousness.

This is what the Aura Soma system of colour balance does – incredible jewel like bottles of living colour that mirror our conscious, subconscious and physical beings, allowing us to subtly but profoundly transform the way we live our lives.

A New Tool for A New Time

It’s an electrifyingly exciting healing modality that comes to us from the ancient past, vibrant living colour applied to the charkas or energy centres of our body to release old cellular memories and emotions enabling us to become wonderfully free from feelings of being stuck and unable to move forward.

Adherents of Aura Soma believe this simple tool is a veritable mind/body/soul medicine in a bottle that works in a transformative way to free us from the need of old psychotherapy practices on our journey to complete emotional wellness.

Practitioners such as renowned New Zealand Aura-Soma Jan Inger are enthusiastic in sharing the stories of their clients changed lives:

  • A 9-year-old Auckland boy freed from ADHD after 10 days treatment with the bottles
  • An 11-year-old Northland girl who stopped a lifelong pattern of bedwetting four days after commencing use of the colour therapy
  • A woman who had struggled with infertility for years who conceived after use of the B5 yellow/red bottle
  • A man whose impotency ended with use of the bottles
  • A prison social worker who found the jail atmosphere transformed after using the pink room spray to engender feelings of safety
  • An autistic child who after three treatments was able to start school

The healing system is based around 102 `equilibrium’ bottles – small square glass bottles that are filled with a magical array of the colour spectrum created from herbs, flower essences, crystals and minerals.

Some bottles are a single hue; others are divided into different colours top and bottom.

Aura Soma is a treatment in itself. Those attending a consultation choose a minimum of four bottles which are then `read’ with the practitioner being able to see clearly the issues going on in the person’s life.

At the end of the session the practitioner and client together decide which might be the most helpful bottle for the client to work with.

Most often this is the second position bottle which is then shaken and applied to the body once or twice a day in the region according to what chakra it relates to.

For example:

  • 1st or `base’ chakra is found in the pelvic region – relates to Red
  • 2nd chakra is found over the stomach region – relates to Orange
  • 3rd or `solar plexus’ chakra found just below breasts – relates to Yellow
  • 4th or `heart’ chakra located between the breasts – relates to Green
  • 5th or `throat’ chakra located over the throat – relates to Blue
  • 6th or `third eye’ chakra located above the eyes – relates to Indigo
  • 7th or `crown’ chakra located on the top of head – relates to Violet
  • 8th or `soul star’ chakra located above head – relates to Magneta

The colour in the bottles actually represents an energy `vibration’ which can be experience by people even if just left at their bedside.

Chakra or energy centres have long been understood in ancient cultures and spiritual systems as an open door to wellness in the body – it is though they act as veritable switching stations allowing energy from our soul to flow through to our body.

Aura Soma practitioners understand that difficulties arise when the proper functioning of our energy centres has been hindered or blocked due to accumulated cellular memory in the region.

Aura Soma practitioners can clearly see such issues at work in the bottles chosen.

For instance a person with discomfort in the throat region may have an absence of blue from any of the bottles they choose, or else blue shows up in positions where it is being suppressed or weakened.

The practitioner would understand this person may well be experiencing problems in `speaking up’ for themselves, or that depression they could be suffering from is due to stifling that creative energy to speak up and show the world who they truly are.

In essence communication is the work of blue or the throat chakra region.

Bottles so intuitively chosen on a simple preference for colour can reveal a person in their most true essence.

Each colour has both its positive and `lesson’ aspects.

A fascinating history

The practice of Aura Soma becomes even more fascinating when you realise that a blind woman developed the magical array of colour bottles.

Aura Soma founder Vicky Wall, the seventh child of a seventh child, was born in England and grew up with a close relationship to her father after her mother died soon after her birth.

Vicky’s father was a master teacher of the mystical Jewish spiritual tradition of the Kabala (currently being made popular with modern adherents such as Madonna) and though he was forbidden to teach women the science, he imbued in Vicky a deep love and understanding of the natural plant world.

Even as a child, Vicky also had her own strong connection to the spiritual world – she was regularly woken by visions of beings in her room, could see auras around her school friends and as she wrote in her book `The Miracle of Colour Healing’, “I would find myself singing softly strange cadences and even stranger words, whose meaning and sound seemed to have no real link to the world about me.

Vicky’s father remarried when she was very young. When Vicky didn’t get on with her stepmother she left home at 15, ending up in London during the Second World War where she stayed with and studied with an old-fashioned apothecary master (the earlier version of the modern pharmacist) who quickly recognised her unique talents.

This training in formulating creams, lotions and herbal remedies proved vital in later life when Vicky found the investment advisor with whom she had left the funds built up from a lifetime’s work as a surgical chiropodist was fraudulent and she lost all her savings.

Thrown back on her own resources, Vicky, who by this age had become blind from diabetes, began making herbal creams and lotions to sell at local market fairs

One night during a meditation she received a strong inner prompting to `part the waters’.

Writes Vicky in her book: “Then came the still small voice that I had listened to and obeyed so many times before. It came as if from the hollow of a cave.

“`Divide the waters, my child.’

“`Divide the waters?’ I came back to earth with a thud. What waters?”

Initially Vicky suspected she had just gone to high in her meditation. But the next night the injunction was repeated, and then again on the third night. Vicky couldn’t understand … she was no Moses, she thought, she was blind, only 40% of her heart was working and she was well into her sixties.

Yet so prompted Vicky got out of bed and went to her little workshop. She says she does not remember the next few hours, not how the balance bottles were actually born. “I only know that other hands had guided mine.”

Initially Vicky used the coloured bottles that contained the energies of plants, herbs, crystals and gems to prop up her stands at craft markets – until fascinated customers began to ask to buy the balance bottles themselves.

Another incredible part of her ability began to unfold as interested customers at the craft fairs she took the bottles to asked Vicky what the bottles were about. Vicky’s second sight and ability to read auras sharpened and strengthened even more and she began to see how the bottles directly worked on helping people.

One of her first inklings of the blue `peace’ balance bottle’s power was a stressed gentleman who repeatedly came to stand in front of Vicky’s little stand of bottles.

He explained how as an agent for a large assurance group in charge of their gigantic stand at the spiritual fair both he and Vicky were attending, had become incredibly stressed.

The gentleman explained to Vicky that passing her stall the blue bottle had caught his eye. “As I stood, a peaceful feeling came over me. I went outside, and then as I came back past here the same thing happened. I returned to my stand to meet the same situation, but I felt calmer. I dealt with the problem and I got the business!”

Already elderly at the time, Vicky formulated the first 34 balance bottles before she met potter and artist Mike Booth and together they had developed an array of 77 bottles before she died gifting the Aura Soma system to Mike who continues with Vicky’s work to this day.

Although Aura Soma was first developed in 1984, Vicky always knew that the colour system wouldn’t come into its own until the new millennium. What she predicted has come to pass with a rapid spread of interest in Aura Soma around the world.

The more experts have studied this colourful equilibrium system, the more has been revealed - many now believe that a similar colour therapy was used first in Egyptian or even earlier times.

On a deeper level, Aura Soma practitioners learn how to read and use the bottles aligned with the tarot, Pythagoras’ numerology, the Kabala and astrology … a virtual spiritual and wellness modality captured within a simple glass bottle.

Vicky Wall knew that when we looked at the colours of the bottles, we tapped into an ancient part of ourselves which knew and understood the importance of colour in our life.
